Walnut w/bow tie

Walnut w/bow tie

I've wanted to try this for awhile. I've done lots of bow ties in flat wood but never for a bowl. This void really didn't need the support, at least not until I tried to add the bow tie. Yes, I broke the top part off. It fit back on pretty clean when I glued it up. I used a copin saw and chisel. I'm gathering that many people use a router perhaps a CNC to make these cuts. Not sure. Once turned Walnut w/ Curley Maple bow tie 13 x 6" finished with linseed oil and beeswax.

FYI - Big Island Engraving sells a router and template solution. This page has the items for sale, how to videos and instructions.
Jim, Thanks for the resource! Generally, I have made bow ties more random. This one is a bit too far, IMO. I tend to not like perfect cemetery.
