Claro Walnut, Canarywood, and Lincoln Penny Box

This is the box is made for Kirk Deheer for the recent forum box swap. The lid functions as a spin top, and the bearing is a domed US Lincoln Penny. 5" h x 2.75" d, paste wax finish
Here are a couple of additional images, as well as a short video of the spin top in action:

So how does one make a domed penny?
I used a doming/dapping block like the following:

Start by putting the penny in a large concavity, and then form it to the shape. Then switch to a smaller concavity to shape it more. Repeat until the penny is in the desired dome shape.

The set you showed is available at HF for $40. Donā€™t know why they spell it ā€œdombingā€ instead of ā€œdoming.ā€
Right, kind of a funny misspelling. Translation error is my guess. I bought that set, actually. Steal of a deal for what you get. And, doming is spelled correctly on the one I have.
