#2121 Maple burl bowl

View of foot and exterior from above.
What tool do you use for the fine details? Spindle gouge? Last week I made a small burl bowl as well, with a foot and rim of similar shape. I thought at the time that the foot and rim were all the details I could add, but your details have made mine look primitive. Well, I guess that some "primitive" designs were done by masters at the time who were more skilled than me rendering my assertion erroneous

Hello Isaac..... The grooves are done with a spear-point scraper that is ground to an acute angle, and the very tip is hand honed with a 600gt diamond hone. Happy turning, sir..... :)
