maple burl wall hanging

20" in diameter, watco and waterlox'd, carved edge
Nice wall hanging Mike. Is this some the load of burl you just received? How do sand the detail around the edge? Hopefully not with the lathe running.

Thanks Paul. Strange timing on the burl haul, but I've had this for a long long time and only recently got around to turning it. All sanding on this was done by hand, to 220 grit. The sanded edges at the rim weren't so hard because they had a solid edge when I sanded it from cutting on the bandsaw. After they were sanded I carved the edges to appear "natural". Looks like I was successful!
