Maple Burl & Ebony 1201-2 Close up

Maple Burl & Ebony 1201-2 Close up, 3 d x 12-1/2 h,. Sanded to 1200, Danish Oil, Bealle Buffed.

10% MC as received, so no further seasoning required.

The main body is Maple Burl w/an Ebony rim and measures 2-3/4 d x 5-1/4 h. The main body is hollowed out but could not follow the exact external shape due too many long axial burl fissures. 1/8 wall thickness is maintained at the smallest diameters.

The Ebony stem is 6-3/4 long and turned down to 3/16 dia. The 3 dia. base is made from the same section of Maple Burl as the main body.

Note: The hollowed area is actually buffed and waxed using special dremel sized soft cotton polishing wheels and thin extension wand which worked pretty well, but not as good as a Bealle wheel would if they made them that small.

Your comments, opinions and critiques are greatly appreciated.

Thanks, JL
