Maple and mahogany teapot

Trying my hand at a teapot for the second time. Body.spout and handle are maple, top is Fl. Mahogany. Struggling with shaping and mating the spout and handle to the base and getting a real clean fit. Also found that shaping the spout and handle was a real challenge for me.
The pyrography was the dessert for me, fun making the different panels with different shapes. Critique and advice welcomed.
I like the body shape and the textures on it. The lid seems to draw attention away from those--might be due to the height. There is also a nice flow of sweep from the handle to the spout. Maybe if the lid help emphasize that instead of interrupting it.
