This one has been gritblasted to raise the grain then Ebonised and finished with Chestnut Gloss Acrilic Laquer.

I like this piece a lot, excellent shape. The black part almost has the look of leather stretched over a form.
 
Very beautifully turned piece with a very well done finish.

I agree with the earlier comment about the background color. Generally a neutral gray or even black background works best. Light gray for dark pieces and dark gray or black for light pieces.
 
I have to stop looking at other peoples stuff, makes me want to quit making mine!! awesome work
