"Lighting the Way"

Turned, carved, pierced and textured. A subtly colorful interior sleeve glowing through in contrast with the medieval harshness of the lantern body. Yet another expression of an age old dichotomy..... 8-1/2" x 4-1/2"
Thank you for looking!
Way cool, Pat. And the sleeve approach... A great way from to keep from going crazy painting the inside of each of the recesses! It looks like an 8 sided dome lid with the 6 sided body. If that's the case, did it just feel good to do it that way or was that planned for some reason.

Thanks Rick- The top is actually 12 flutes and the finial is 3. 6 windows and 6 feet so all combos of 3. All those things matter...:)

I really like this one, Pat. Is the sleeve removable? Can it be replaced with other sleeves with different colorings ... like one for each day of the week?

Thanks Tom- Your idea crossed my mind.. I believe that I left it loose. This piece is in a gallery out of state so I can't check at the moment.

That bit of color really adds depth and pop to this piece Pat! I love that topper. This looks ready to cap a column or tower to my “inside the box” mind! Well done!
