Lidded Box

Lidded Box

Top: Red Coolibah, Base: unknown Australian wood (very scented), African Blackwood filial. 6-1/2" tall x 4"wide. My niece brought the chunk of wood used for the base back from a recent trip to Australia; she got this box in return. I'm a relatively new turner, critiques welcomed!
Congratulations on your first Gallery posting, John. Looks good! Would prefer to see a more 'profile' shot if you're only posting one photo - better to see the form. The "knob" looks to be a little heavy (large) for the lid, but that could be a result of the high angle of the photo. To my thinking, a knob is more utilitarian and a finial is more decorative ... in most cases! You asked!!! :) I'm sure others will disagree with me.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work posted here.
