Lidded Box

This little box is about 3 inches tall, 2 inches in diameter … cherry with teak lid.
@Russ Braun No hand-carving. I do these with a Wagner Texturing Tool and a point tool.
 
I really like the box and I'm glad it wasn't carved, there's hope for me yet. I have those tools but haven't achieved the skills on display.
 
@Ron Vasser It is actually pretty easy to do ... put your tool rest at or slightly above center, lathe speed at about 600rpm, raise the tool handle and with a slight downward rake push it into the blank. Press hard for several seconds. Then use a point tool to dress up the edges.
