Large Hard Maple Hollow Form

Still working on that hard maple that fell across my neighbors driveway. This is some hard wood! Hence the name I guess. My plans for this one, other than large, changed several times during the initial turning. Spout, no spout, hart wood down, up? Agh... I'm not in love with the shape. It's almost the same top to bottom. The grain is pretty but I think I'm proudest of process. While it took a couple days to empty the inside to the shop floor the process went without any whoopsies. Hard Maple 14" x 9" finished with Mahoney's Finishes Walnut Oil Wax.
Bill, thanks! I did indeed get tired of pulling/blowing shavings every two to three seconds but it was a 2” hole on the bottom that I hollowed from. Yes, I back hollowed otherwise known as cheating. Don’t tell! 🤫

There’s a whole tree of this stuff if you want to make the journey up north. 😂
