KISS

A tribute to the late Ray Key. I saw this in a recent AW magazine and couldn't resist. I prefer Ray's original version which is not segmented and made of sycamore and blackwood. My version is curly maple and wenge finished with CA glue. I used glass inserts so stems could be added to the vases. Overall 11" x 8", the individual vases are about 6" tall. All C&C welcome.

It's very well done and quite appealing. Kudos.

Since you asked for comments, I find my eye strongly drawn to the segmenting of the white vase. Since the theme is the similarity/contrast between the two vases, this may be a detraction. The white vase would be quite striking as a solo piece, but perhaps something a little less so would work better in the set.

@Dean Center Thanks for the feedback Dean - and I agree. I commented that I prefer Ray's original and that is the reason. His is chunk turned and looks better because of that.
