Janus, side 1

Free-standing sculpture, turned on both sides. Maple burl, stained, carved, cut in half, with additional turned "eye," and ebony blocks. The base is painted buckeye burl that was too punky to use for anything else.
In Roman mythology, Janus was the god with two faces who could see the past and the future. You decide which side is which.
23" x 18" x 9", including the base.
