Inca Copper

This was one of my entries in the 2017 Northeast Woodworkers Association Showcase held this past weekend in Saratoga Springs, NY. We held a 2x4 Challenge. Everything submitted in this category had to be made from a standard construction grade 2"x4"x8'. This is a segmented bowl measuring 12"d x 5"h. Made from a fir 2x4, the wide rim was hand carved with an Inca design, then painted with copper paint and patinized. Looks like a hammered copper pot. A fun project.
