This is a segmented "Thing" made from walnut from the UK Arboretum and will be returned to them for a silent auction to benefit the BAW (bluegrass area woodturning club) and the arboretum. I spindle turn about 12" long pieces then cut them on a band saw to the angles i need, then glue them back together, drill a hole thru several pieces then insert a dowel to give it a little more rigidity. The base is just painted maple. Its about 12" x 8". let me now what you think of it.. Thanks
Andrew,

I like it.
This type of work has endless possiblities to creativity.
What diameter were the spindle pieces when you glued them together to make the shape ?
I'm assuming there was a lot of carving and sanding after gluing
the pieces.
Like to see more.
