Honduras Rosewood Burl Capsule Box

Another capsule box coming your way....this time turned from a more pronounced piece of Honduras Rosewood Burl (Dalbergia stevensonii) The burl eyes are really striking, and the swirly look of the grain makes it look like a burl explosion! Since this piece was small to start out with, this box is more tall and skinny, but the proportions are still within the golden ratio. Turned, hollowed, and finished with abrasive wax followed by friction on melamine lacquer. Size is 1 7/8" tall x 1 1/2" diameter. I have some more of the "extra burly" Honduras Rosewood I hope to make into a few more boxes!
An additional view....
