Don't know what type adhesive you are using (looks like a silicone base or hot melt glue) but the squeeze out is very noticeable and detracts from the ornament. All the parts are light weight and very little glue is needed to keep them attached.

First - good eye. What you are seeing is not glue, I used Titebond 2 sparingly, IIRC. It is the lacquer pooling up after dipping. Was first attempt at using a lacquer dip, and believe that part of the pooling was due to not allowing enough slope at the transitions from ball to finial. The lacquer was cut 50-50 with lacquer thinner.
As a life-long Red Sox fan, I'm overly familiar with the concept of snatching defeat from the hands of victory. In this case flummoxed by finish.
