Harvester

Sculpture, Quarter-sawn Oak, 12 1/2” H x 12” W x 4”D, Offset turned and carved, Sandblasted & dyed black, oil finish . Thought I'd share my themed piece I submitted for the AAW's "Waves of Grain" exhibition in K.C. this year. It was not chosen for the exhibit but I am happy that it helped me develop another carved textured surface technique for future pieces.

Statement:
The combine wheel is a common sight in the grain fields of Missouri during harvest season. It is a symbol of the bounty that the hard working farmers create each year. This sculpture represents the dynamic motion of the grain harvester witness by the farmers each year.
