"Fun with Color" - backside view

A backside view showing how the stand functions. A platter turned from figured maple. It's the most dramatic colored piece I've done, unfortunately it hides a great deal of the beautiful figuring in the maple. After the color was added it was finished with several coats of satin polyurethane. The dimensions of the platter are 9.5 inches in diameter by 1.25 inches deep.
