Flaming Birch

It’s been a while since I posted any bowls but I thought this one deserves to be seen. It is a 14” wide by 7 ½” high maximum Yellow Birch Burl bowl with a natural edge. I wish the camera was capable of capturing the chatoyance I see when I rotate the bowl in the sunlight. This was twice turned to produce a round bowl. The bark inclusions were stabilized and filled with epoxy resin. This one will be decorating someone’s Christmas dinner table in a few days.
Beautiful bowl--nice figure, lovely finish, interesting natural edge, and it's big. What more could you ask for! Thanks for sharing.
