This is a piece of Cedar that was killed in a fire years ago ( was told at the time, that the fire took place 70 years ago). Was harvested in the mountains east of Cedaredge,Co. way back in the forest. The bowl is finished with Danish Oil and wet sanded to 2000 grit. The size is 9 1/4 inches wide and 4 3/4 inches tall with 3/16 inch wall thickness. Also has bark intrusion in two places.

Nice looking bowl Gary. Did it have the hole to begin with or did it split off during during? I like to turn juniper but it can have alot of hidden "issues" that pose safety hazards when turning.

Thanks. That was Mom Nature. Didn't have a piece come off this one. Being old and dry it cut beautiful.
