Finial Boxes

Our local AAW chapter (Bay Lake Woodturners) had Cindy Drozda do an IRD (Internet Remote Demo) a few months back, showing us how she creates her ‘Fabulous Finial Box’.

I just had to try my hand at her design … these four are the result.

Each box is about 3-1/2” high and 2” in diameter. The blanks I used (2 maple and 2 cherry) start out about 4” in length and a little over 2” in diameter. I used scraps of walnut for the inlays around the lids and the bases.
