I usually don't post pieces back to back, but this time I have to! I have finally found a source for spalted Beech (shipped from England!) This mini pill style, a little more squat, and with closer proportions then a capsule box, is turned from European spalted Beech (Fagus sylvatica) This particular piece did not have too many punky areas, but sharp tools are a must! The spalting lines are few, but intense! Turned, hollowed and finished with gloss lacquer, then buffed with carnauba. Size is 1 3/4" tall x 1 7/8" diameter. Overall this wood is very nice to work, but very hard to find!
