Elliptical 4 footed Platter

I was offered some Arbutus (madrone) rounds last fall and was told to take what I wanted as it was going as firewood. There were 2 large crotch pieces already in the firewood pile. I used an engine hoist and snatched them up first and then 2 large rounds for a full truck load. This platter was turned green using a VOD 300, the finished piece is 17" x 12.5" and about 1/4" thick with 4 carved feet. Tung oil finish.

Could u show pic of the vod 300, interesting, no warp.

Hi Charlie, the VOD 300 is made by Vicmarc for elliptical turning, the platter does have some warp but very little considering. Try the link for a photo of it. cheers
