Eastern White Pine, Adirondack harvest #2

Took a tall dead pine down in September. Most of the wood will dry and become furniture or firewood. Took some rounds back to the house, rough turned, dried with desiccant. Very unforgiving , lots of sanding. Black marks around top center are coloration in the wood. Finished with tung oil, intend to use this on the dining room table at some point.
Beautiful bowl Tom! Where is it from? We used to have a camp in North River. I spent a year in school in Wanakena.

@Lou Jacobs My property is about 10 miles north end of the Sacandaga Lake. I love the pine that comes from there. It's been fun to do "square" woodworking, but the 3 bowls I got out of it are just beautiful and soft.

Yes, it’s so neat to make something from wood that has special significance to you. I’ve got one ash bowl I made from a tree that was on our land up there, and while it is far from my best work, it is one of my favorites for what it represents to me.
