Eastern red cedar bowl

Eastern red cedar bowl

The log this is from was given to me by a neighbor who was visiting her father in West Virginia. He’s sent wood for me home with her in the past. Usually I’d rough turn it and put it on the shelf to dry, but I couldn’t resist getting right into this piece of cedar. The finished bowl is 8” in diameter and 4 1/2” tall. It’s got several bark inclusions, but none create an open void in the piece.
