Deep Rising, angle view

This is my largest piece to date and is a continuation of both the split bowl technique and painted supports. It was also one of the trickiest construction challenges, figuring out how to handle the holes in the base and also the pin placement.

The finial is made from cold bendable wood (flutedbeams.com) and is held on with magnets. It can be removed for shipping if anyone (Hint) wants to buy it.

Figured maple, painted poplar, painted brass pins

C&C welcome.
