Decorated Silver Maple Bowl

Decorated Silver Maple Bowl

14" spalted Silver Maple bowl. The top band was textured, painted with metallic copper paint, and patina'd. It has a copper wire recessed in a groove on both inside and outside. I am not real happy with the way the wire turned out. Copper wire is pretty unforgiving.
I wonder if you attempted to patina the wire as well? I've done a lot of patina work in other crafts and know you have to have the surface 100% clean or it won't take the patina. In your case, the wire acts like a border. Nicely done, too.
