Day and Night...

This is my first post to the AAW Gallery! I have been turning for a little over 2 years and LOVE it. A member of the El Camino WT Club - thanks to many members there, I have grown by leaps and bounds. Thank you to the AAW Gallery for the amazing inspirations. You blow me away!

Wood: Ash Dimensions: 4.25" x 8.25"
Finish: Powdered Dyes mixed with Water
Burned/Pyrography pattern was done freehand. Burned the band at the top to help the colors come alive. Left a bit of the natural edge as a tribute to what it once was...and it just felt right. MANY layers of spray Lacquer as final sealer. I am still learning...
Carmen, very nice work. You really have grown by leaps and bounds. Don't forget the Glendale Woodturners Guild.
We're close to NoHo and have been having some great demos. John Beaver showed us how to make his wave bowls recently. It was an outstanding demo.

This piece is full of color, contrast, and pattern! Well done!
