This is another fun turning. It's cotton wood the I turned to the shape of a barrel. It's 4 inches tall and 3 1/2 wide. Cut groves, belled the bottom of them then filled with brass powder for the barrel rings. Using the indexing on the lathe, set the staves and used a chip carving knife to cut the staves on the sides, top and bottom. Dirlled 3/8 inch hole in the top. After pulling it off the lathe, wiped it down with grain filler, sanded to give a smooth feeling. Finished with 5 coats of Danish Oil.
