Segmented Hollowform No. 2

Segmented Hollowform No. 2

I used the lathe to cut the thousands of segments used in this vessel. There are several different types of wood, and a cherry burl collar.

Finish is Titebond II.

comments welcome
I think I would have liked to see the beautiful cherry burl collar raised up a bit above the obviously difficult segmented portion, otherwise...

George-

The goal was to create the illusion that I had hollowed a burl and somehow applied a "texture" to it while preserving the clean lines of the form. Didn't quite get there, but I hae some more ideas for future pieces...
