Ash Bowl w/ Tri-color Treatment

This 8" ash bowl features a burnt rim and a dark mission brown dye on the outside. The interior is natural. Finish is super blond shellac applied and buffed at the lathe. This was turned in early 2004.
I like it very much. The different colors are similar to to what I did to a bowl which I didn't think was nearly as good as this one. I donated it to a charity auction and was surprised that it sold for a very nice price. In my case, I was trying to be creative and use shoe leather dye as the colors and then used alcohol to feather the colors.
