Chinese Elm HF Set

Chinese Elm HF Set

This set was turned from a 17 bowl blank intended for coring. The checking had already developed quite deeply, precluding coring bowls from it. The blank was cut into quadrants and a natural edge hollow form turned from each. The next picture will show the 4th HF. The thickness of each is about 3/16. Each turning was finished with 3 coats of Waterlox and buffed. The sizes going counter clockwise from the front are: 3 x 4, 4 x 4 and 5 x 4 .
Richard, thanks much. Turned these to save the wood from finding the fireplace. Much better end result I think. Thanks again.
