Slotted Tulipwood bowl

This bowl measures 17" x 20" and 4" deep. It's made from African Tulipwood, Padauk, Wenge and is held together with a Yellowheart strip. The dark lines are 3/16" spaces. The finish is teak oil and tung oil.
Thank you Mark,
This is beautiful, you grabbed my attention and kept it.
I like how you used different sections but tied them together with a common shared border with a contiguous grain. Classy

Very pretty. Reminds me of Mondrian and Frank Loyd Wright at the same time

Aren't you concerned with cross grain joints? Did you handle them in a special way?

Thanks for your comments.
This bowl looks very different from the one I had originally planned.
I added the border in order to get the outside dimension I wanted.
As for the cross grain joints; I haven't had any problems, even when using dissimilar woods. I've used Titebond 3 since it came available, and works well with the exotic wood I use.
