Pierced Apple Ornament

Spalted Apple globe with Walnut finials and pierced vine pattern. 2" w x 6" h
I find apple wood and fruit wood in general to be some of the nicest wood to turn and finish. It cuts beautifully.

Comments and questions welcome.
Very nice work, Chip. I like the globe on this one the best but the finial and icicle are too heavy looking whereas the finial and icicle on the maple globe are heading in the right direction.

Thanks for your comment Griesbach. I agree with your assessment. I think when you get the ornaments together, there is a fine line between too heavy, too thin, and just right. The base right under the globe should have beenabout 1/3 smaller but I already had it together before I decided that. Kind of hard to undo the superglue. Ruth
