Winter Twilight

End grain birch vessel, hand-drawn and carved tree branches, interior airbrushed to resemble the winter sky at sunset. Exterior branches after carving, were textured with a wood burning handpiece, and dry brush painted. Dimensions: 6" high by 5" wide.

I really like the transparency you've achieved here! The pattern works really well looking from the top, but the sunrise showing through the trees is a stunning contrast. Awesome work, Donna!!

Wow, beautiful ..... a wonderful piece, Donna !!! Great detail and coloring. I LOVE the added snow - is that an added material (i.e., modeling paste or other) or is that part of the original wood carving?
