Ceylon Satinwood Round Bottom Box

After thinking about this style of box, I decided to make a few design changes on the one. Turned from Ceylon Satinwood (Chloroxylon swietenia), this wood is very hard and lustrous, with a shiny appearance. The yellow/white color in the grain is also normal for this wood. It turns and sands very nicely, as well as being able to hold fine details. Design features include a true round bottom, rounded over rim, a double stepped lid, and curved sides. Turned, hollowed, and finished with abrasive wax. Size is 1 3/4" tall x 2" diameter. Overall a very solid and unique box!

Hey Gabriel, I think it's amazing that you find and turn all these different types of wood. Have you kept track of all the different species that you've tried? Some of the woods you have used have been spectacular! You must have a good supplier!
