Ceremony - Front

Living in the Southwest, inspiration can be found seemingly everywhere I turn (no pun intended!). This basket illusion piece was inspired by the Navajo Wedding Baskets. Turned from a solid piece of Hard Maple - it measures approximately 9.75" x 2". The 4 colors I used are Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens and sealed with clear acrylic.
David, beautiful work! What color “red” are you using with the FC pens?
Hi Mark, thank you for the nice comment! I use the Faber-Castell Deep Scarlet Red #219 - in order to get the level of color saturation I am looking for; I usually have to color over the beads multiple times with the brush pen - I also do a lot of detail work with the .3 (S) pen of the same color ... same process, color all the way down to the bottom between each bead & outline the edges multiple times --- until I like the color tone.
