An open segment bowl done in a basket weave pattern. Sepele and Wenge with a Danish oil finish. Roughly 9.5" diameter and 7" in height. This was an interesting glue-up.
Ah, I get it now. When the horizontals are added, it makes it a solid ring so you then can turn the inside as you build. I really love this and cannot stop looking at it. Great choice of woods - really stands out!

Feel free! For me it took a little fiddling with the design to get something that looked balanced, trying to keep the gaps roughly as tall as they are wide. I'd love to hear - and see - how it goes for you.
