This piece is a culmination of skills that I have acquired from artists who enthusiastically share their expertise. “Oasis” is a hollow form of Basswood carved with five palm trees. The vessel is 4”x 8”, textured with pyrography and finished with oil.

Nicely executed Jim! I can feel the ocean breeze from here!! I’m guessing that you wish you got that wall thickness I touch thinner during the piercing process….that makes your effort even more impressive! Well done!
 
Russ, a bit of additional patience helped…there is not a lot of support for some of the pattern, especially brittle are the cross-grain carvings, but fortunately no glue was needed. Thanks for your feedback. Jim
