The Red Thread of Fate

After having heart surgery this winter, I lost my voice. I have been on vocal rest for the last 3 months (meaning very limited or no talking). This prolonged silence has completely changed my perspective. It's frustrating not being heard, because it's important to be able to speak your mind.
Loosing one's voice is a timely metaphor for many people's struggles right now. Exploring voicelessness as a theme in my art is helping me heal.

So relevant ! Hope you heal quickly, Carol. Upside ... heart surgery was successful.

Carol, this wood art is a moving tribute to your health journey. I’m a voice actor and had minor experience of losing my professional voice after a spinal anesthetic. It turns out that the spinal suppressed diaphragmatic muscle memory that I had spent years developing. I think, I hope this has resolved after eight months. At age 85 I’m happy that I was just cast in a new role – so someone seems to think my voice is Sufficiently professional or maybe just artistic.
Blessings on your life, Paul
