Maple bowl

11”x 3” maple. Dyed rim and base.
Looks great! What did you use to seal the dye?
Thanks David. I use Tried and true over the dye with very light wiping. It seems to take about 2 weeks of not handling it to seal it. I usually buff with the Beal system. Obviously I don’t on dyed pieces. Do use use a sealer?

When I used dye I sometimes would use a sealer and/or lacquer over it. I like wood dye but you can’t set the piece near a window with sunlight and the UV will fade the dye.
I’m going to try some different color India ink and see how it does.

I use Artisan alcohol based dyes. This is my second bowl to use it on. Just went back and read the info on it. UV resistant! Thanks for the heads up. I will have to keep that in mind. So much to learn, so little time.
