This wig stand was turned to support the Tennessee Association of Woodturners' ongoing wig stand project in conjunction with the Women in Turning chapter. I encourage everyone to find a way to give back to the community in some way with their turnings. Whether it's empty bowls, beads of courage, turn for troops, wig stands, or some other way, it's wonderful to share our craft with people who need a little something special.

The stand is hard maple painted with acrylics. I pulled inspiration from the furniture and sculpture of Ettore Sottsass and his work for Memphis Design Group.
Also this is my first time posting to the gallery, so moderators, please let me know if I goofed anything up.

It's a very nice wig stand. You didn't goof anything up, but next time enter a title. If you don't enter a title, it will default to the camera file name, and "1000004687.jpg" isn't very informative. Before the recent forum software update, you had to enter a title. I am still trying to correct that issue.
