A Study in Orienteggtion

Indian Rosewood, dyed plywood, magnets. 9.5"h x 2.75"d. I made this piece for a swap on the Segmented Woodturner's site (https://segmentedwoodturners.org/). A while back I won some dyed plywood blocks. I glued a few of them together to make the pedestal, and used a separate block to make the small egg. Originally, I was going to use a different block for the large egg, but it looked too busy, so instead opted for a nice dark piece of Indian Rosewood with visible brown streaks to add contrast but still emphasize a different grain orientation than the pedestal and the small egg. Fun!
