Deviled Egg Salt and Pepper Shakers

Deviled Egg Salt and Pepper Shakers

Shakers made from maple. Holes for salt and pepper in the letters and hole for filling in the bottom sealed with a cork. Yolks are painted with thinned acrylic paint. Made for our local club gift exchange.
Great idea
I really like these,
wondering how they might look without the S & P on the yolk.
They do need a way to tell which is which

I didn't want it to be too subtle to tell which is which. I know my wife complains that she can't tell our salt and pepper mills I made appart at first glance. They are different woods and the darker wood is the pepper.

If doing it again I might try to do the letters after painting so it looks cleaner. Too many holes might also make too much salt and pepper come out at once. I would rather have too little come out than too much at once.
