Ceiling Lamp

A few years ago a client who often supplies me with turning wood asked for a ceiling lamp to be made from a Big Leaf Maple Burl from a tree on a property they own. We looked at the tree and it appeared suitable however she didn't want to cut the tree down just to make the lamp. It did appear healthy but last winter it uprooted from snow load. We harvested the tree and this lamp was from the largest of the burls. It was basically like a turtle shell completely soft inside but a decent outer cap. Finished size is 34" diameter X 20" depth, weighs just over 12 lbs.
Impressed by size, be awhile before stabilizing.....nice
