Olivewood Christmas Ornament

After a long stretch of boxes posted in my gallery, it is time to get in the Christmas season and make some ornaments! It has been awhile since I have made an ornament, but I don't think I missed on this one. The globe is turned from figured Olivewood (Olea europaea) and the finial from African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon) (a true rosewood btw!) I modeled the cap on top to mirror the finial design, and have used fishing line for the hanger. Size is 2" diameter x 5 1/2" tall. Finished with gloss lacquer. You may see me make at least one more ornament this year, I enjoy the process!
