The Cherry burl globe has been dyed yellow and red. The icicle and top are made of redheart, it was dyed yellow to help match the globe. It is about 8" x 2 3/4“.
Beautiful ornaments, Jim. Your work is always well designed, and with such clean and crisp details. Overall look is exquisite.
A few suggestions if you don’t mind 😇 ….. (not that I could pull them off myself, but …) and I’m sure others may disagree with me.
Upper finial looks a little heavy-thick-big-tall as compared to the element at the bottom of the globe.
Lower element (below the globe) could be a little shorter but not that important, IMO.
The large diameter of the “onion” detail should be less than that of the element above where it attaches to the globe. Basically, a decrease in diameters as it works down toward the point. “ \ / “
I hope all that makes sense. Just my 2¢ … and worth what you paid for it!
