Life Lesson

I’ve been trying to make a Chinese Puzzle Ball for about 10 years now. Been fascinated by the concept since first finding Woodturning Wizardry by David Springett. Ended up with his tools and tried/failed many times over the years. It was the precision and layout I was having the issue with. Just couldn’t wrap my head around all the equations. Ended up with the full set of tools from Conestoga Works a few years ago and they had some better vids, but again just couldn’t get it. Finally had some clarity the last couple of days and managed to make this. Maple sphere with 7 layers.
Great job Jeff! Looks beautiful!

Amazing! What a prize Jeff! I greatly admire your perseverance over such a long time. Thanks for the Life Lesson reminder.

Finding Springett, Hogbin and Hosaluk cost me alot of money. Quit carving duck decoys and bought a better lathe and tools .
Nice work.

Your piece is remarkable and a fitting testament to your persistence and determination. Kudos to you!

Nicely done Jeff! Lesson’s learned, finally coming together! Thankfully I’m a slow learner so I won’t even try this, haha! Way to stick with it!

Hey Bob. I am, I saw posts on Facebook back in August. Shame, I was trying to work with him on another project several months ago and we just couldn’t connect.
Same happened to me. I'm not a metal person. He had a bud in Iowa or Nebraska that did some work with the videos but I can't remember his name. He owned some pizza ranch restaurants. Any way you do good work.
