Love the wavy rim! How did you accomplish that.
The wood did it all by itself. The heartwood and sapwood of ornamental cherry (and a few other woods) shrink at radically different rates, so when the roughed out bowl was done drying and ready for finish turning, it had naturally developed this pronounced crown at the rim. I finish-turned the bowl but didn't touch the rim except to smooth it.
